The library of CSAEO holds approximately 17,000 volumes: many of them have been directly bought by Peternolli, while many have been purchased or donated by various institutions and individuals.

CSAEO lends books to its members and to last-year students of the University of Bologna.

CSAEO also owns an interesting collection of Chinese, Korean and Japanese illustrated children books.
